What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and device identifiers; this policy calls them all "cookies". First-party cookies are set by us; third-party cookies are set by another domain, such as an ad network. This policy explains our use of cookies alongside the Privacy Policy.
Categories we use
- Essential. Needed for sign-in, security, load balancing and remembering your consent choice. They cannot be switched off in our systems, and the law does not require consent for them.
- Advertising. Some content pages, mainly Resources articles, show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to deliver and measure ads and, if you allow it, to personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites.
- Analytics. If we enable Google Analytics, it uses cookies to count visits and understand which pages are useful. We use the results in aggregate only.
We do not use cookies inside API requests, and the API does not track you across websites.

Managing your consent
Visitors from the EEA, UK and Switzerland see a consent message provided by Google, a certified consent management platform. Our pages use Google Consent Mode v2 with advertising and analytics storage denied by default until you choose otherwise. Elsewhere, you can still control personalised advertising using the options below.
Change your cookie choices
Reopen the consent message to review or withdraw consent.
- Personalised Google ads: Google Ads Settings.
- Other participating ad companies: aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
- How Google uses data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- Google Analytics: the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control signal are treated as opting out of personalised advertising where the law requires.
Browser controls
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers offer private modes that clear cookies when closed. Blocking essential cookies on this site will prevent you from signing in to the console; blocking advertising cookies does not stop ads, it makes them less relevant.
Updates
We update this policy when we add or remove cookies, and change the "Last updated" date above.
